“We LOVE standing in line with kids!!!!” Said no one. EVER.
Do yourselves a favor and buy your tickets and Annual Passes ONLINE before your visit! Seriously. The lines at the ticket booths (unless you arrive super early – this photo shows proof of how empty it can be during early hours) can be VERY long, especially within the first hour of the park opening. Since you will likely be waiting in lines most of the day it’s nice to avoid one whenever you can! Waiting at the ticket booth definitely isn’t as exciting for kids as waiting in line for It’s A Small World.
You can either bring your printed paper tickets with you OR you can open your confirmation email or Disneyland app (sign into your Disney account to access ticket on app) & have the e-ticket barcode scanned at the park entrances.
For Annual Pass purchases made online, a confirmation email will be sent to you. You can print the e-ticket or have it scanned on your phone upon entry. At some point during the day, just visit a ticket booth to pick up your AP card (mid-day to later in the day is better for shorter ticket booth lines!) Your photo can be taken by a Cast Member taking tickets or by any Photo Pass Photographer.
Disneyland offers various ticket options, including single day tickets to one park, single day park hopper tickets (access to both Disneyland & DCA), multi-day park hopper tickets that will save you money, discounted military tickets, & SoCal resident discounts! Be sure to sign up for Disneyland emails so you can learn about the special offers throughout the year!
Our recommendations for MULTI-DAY TICKETS:
If you would like to do both Disneyland & California Adventure & you’re trying to decide whether to do a 2-day or 3-day ticket, we recommend purchasing a 3-day ticket. We feel like spreading your time out over at least 3 days is the best way to feel less stress about getting everything in! We suggest Disneyland over 2 days & California Adventure can be done in 1 day. Multi-day tickets must be used within 13 days of first use.
Our recommendation for ONE DAY, ONE PARK TICKETS:
We always suggest going to Disneyland over California Adventure. Don’t get us wrong, we LOVE California Adventure, but if you’re looking for the classic Disney experience, going to where it all started is the best! Plus, Disneyland has more rides than California Adventure, especially for the little kiddos
