Run Free at Disney

During our weekly Disneyland & California Adventure visits, we’ve had plenty of opportunities to scope out the best spots in both parks to let our kids get energy out! It’s so important for our kids to run around at a place like Disneyland where they get plenty of stroller time.

Run Free at Disneyland:

  • Goofy’s house in Toontown is a great place for kids to play (there’s a slide!) or for crawling babes to get some crawl time in
  • All of the character homes & the interactive downtown areas in Toontown are great for playtime
  • Tarzan’s Treehouse in Adventureland
  • Pirate’s Lair on Tom Sawyer Island is perfect for little explorers & letting our kids roam free (supervised, of course) – re-opening Summer 2017
  • Open areas around the exit to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
  • Open areas on the east side of It’s a Small World
  • Near the Toon Town Train Depot – big open area with lots of shade
  • Critter Country toward the very west side of the park – wide open space, especially in the mornings
  • Star Wars Launch Bay in Tomorrowland

Run Free at California Adventure:

  • Wide open areas in front of Stage 12 in Hollywood Land
  • The Redwood Creek Challenge Trail is one of our favorite places to visit. It’s fun for all ages with activities such as rock climbing, rope bridges & slides
  • Paradise Park, overlooking Paradise Pier & Mickey’s Fun Wheel
  • The “Animation Courtyard” in the Animation Academy building is a big carpeted room with still images, video clips & music of various Disney movies playing on big screens! Strollers are not permitted inside, but there is stroller parking right outside the building on the side walk
  • Along the walkway to A Bug’s Land from Cars Land, next to Luigi’s Rollicking Roadsters is one of our favorite open spaces to let our kids play
  • We also like the grounds of the Disneyland Hotel – lots of grassy areas (and sticks…all toddlers like sticks!) for running free & taking a break from the parks!
