Did you know the Mickey pretzels sold all around both parks are Vegan?!
DIETARY RESTRICTIONS. How many food allergy sufferers (or parents of food allergy sufferers) do we have out there? Food restrictions of all kinds have the potential to really put a damper on a vacation – especially one to the Happiest Place on Earth!
Well, not to worry, friends – if you have one of the more common dietary restrictions (gluten/wheat, lactose/dairy, peanuts/tree nuts, shellfish, soy, fish, eggs, AND Vegan or Kosher!), Disneyland has got you covered (even their Mickey pretzels are Vegan)! For more than 10 years, Disneyland has done its absolute best to accommodate guests with special dietary needs (even receiving a “FARE” award for doing so!) & as of 2015, they’ve upped their game, offering allergy-free menus at eateries such as: Village Haus Restaurant, Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante, River Belle Terrace, Carthay Circle, Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill, & Lucky Fortune Cookery. This list is growing too! So, always ask if one is available at your chosen eatery.
That said, ANY food service facility in either park will do its best to accommodate dietary restrictions when requests are made. The key is to communicate, communicate, COMMUNICATE! Always inform the server or cast member in charge of your order what your needs/restrictions are, & if necessary they will even send the chef out to you to discuss your specific meal needs. Service with a smile!
Never feel bad about asking to speak with a chef or manager about dietary needs – an OC Register article noted that, in 2013, the parks accommodated more than 650,000 special meal requests – so, you’re in good company!
LASTLY…as always, use your parental discretion! Disneyland’s chefs will do their best to assist you in any possible way, but it’s up to you to decide what your family can/cannot eat. Click HERE to read more about special dietary needs at Disneyland!
