Birthdays at Disneyland are so much fun! Upon entering the parks, don’t forget to pick up a FREE birthday button at City Hall on Main Street, at the Chamber of Commerce in California Adventure or any guest services stand alone booth (most of the stores have buttons also, just ask)! If you’re wearing your button, you’ll be wished cheery “Happy Birthday!” greetings throughout the course of your day as you encounter Disney Cast Members (& friendly guests!). Lots of fun for kiddos!
If you’re hoping to amp up the birthday festivities, we recommend making reservations for a Character Dining experience! Check out our character dining information here. Advance reservations are highly recommended. Reservations can be made on Disneyland’s website, the Disneyland App, or by calling 714-781-DINE.
Disneyland offers a custom cake or mini-cake delivery (must be ordered before dining) at select table-service restaurants at Disneyland, California Adventure & all Disney hotels. We especially love the custom cake options! Choose a Minnie, Mickey, Princess or Disney signature cake! You can order your cake up to 60 days in advance, but at least THREE days prior to the delivery date. Call (714) 781-DINE or (714) 781-3463 to order!
BIRTHDAYS AT DISNEY HOTELS:
All Disney hotels will even deliver customizable birthday baskets to your room prior to your arrival, if ordered! Click here for more info on ordering.
MORE BIRTHDAY FUN AT THE PARKS:
If you walk into City Hall on Main Street in Disneyland, you’ll find a pretty little antique phone on the counter. Just ask a Cast Member for permission, & you can pick up the receiver to listen to a special birthday message, sung by a Disney character on the other line! On our last visit, it was Goofy singing “A Very Merry Unbirthday!”
There is a different character singing on the other end of the line each day. If you’re celebrating your little one’s birthday at the parks, this is definitely something that will add a little extra magic to their visit! And if you were planning on stopping by City Hall for a birthday button anyways, it’s easy enough to take a minute to listen to a special message on your way out the door.
Whether you choose to do all or none of these things, Disneyland is still the most magical place to spend any birthday! Do you have any ideas for making a Disney bday extra magical? Corn dogs on the hour? Dole Whips on the half hour? Let’s be honest, most of our bday fantasies just involve food. Happy celebrating!
