Summer hours are ending soon which means the parks will open a little later and close early on Monday-Thursday toward the end of August (the parks will still open earlier and close later on Friday-Sunday)! You can check park hours up to 6 weeks before your visit on Disneyland’s daily calendar (don’t rely on google – hours aren’t always correct there)!
While later start hours typically means lower crowds on some days, and not getting up as early for rope drop (ha!), the “slower season” hours will impact some entertainment at the parks. We wanted to make sure everyone was fully aware of what will be happening with parades, fireworks, etc, just in case you are planning a trip to see specific shows!
First, the Main Street Electrical Parade has just two weeks left at Disneyland! The final parades will be on Sunday, August 20th. After the Main Street Electrical Parade ends, guests will still get to enjoy the daytime parade, “Mickey’s Soundsational Parade,” with TWO showtimes for a couple weeks (starting August 21) at 4:30 PM and a new evening show at 7:00 PM. Starting early September, Soundsational will have one afternoon parade from Monday-Thursday, and then two parades Friday-Sunday. Be sure to check Disneyland’s calendar for show times up to 6 weeks before your visit!

Holiday Parades (mid-September-early January)
Guests of Mickey’s Halloween Party will get to enjoy the “Frightfully Fun Parade,” and then come November, when Christmas officially starts (no dates for holidays at Disneyland yet!), “A Christmas Fantasy” parade will begin! Also, guests of Mickey’s Halloween Party will be treated with a special “Halloween Screams” fireworks show and every evening of the holiday season (during Christmas time), guests will get to enjoy special holiday fireworks.

Over at California Adventure, the Pixar Play Parade will continue every evening until Sunday, August 20, then it will make its way to Disneyland sometime in 2018! If you missed our announcement about Paint the Night returning, it WILL be coming back, but this time, to California Adventure! No official return date yet.

Fantasmic!, Fireworks and World of Color
Fantasmic!, Fireworks and World of Color (at California Adventure) may have different start times or not show everyday due to Summer hours ending soon!
Fantasmic! on the Rivers of America at Disneyland and “Remember…Dreams Come True” fireworks at Disneyland will only be on Friday, Saturday and Sunday come September. This is pretty much always the case for these two shows during “slow season” or “off season.” During busy season (Summer and holiday times), these shows happen every night of the week. We always recommend checking Disneyland’s calendar up to 6 weeks before your visit to see if these shows will be happening during the week.
World of Color will go from two shows a night to only once a night Monday-Thursday starting Monday, August 28. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, when California Adventure stays open later, World of Color will happen two times a night. During the holiday season (starting early November), World of Color will become “World of Color – Season of Light” (amazing show that will make you cry – ha)! Again, be sure to check Disneyland’s calendar for show times up to 6 weeks before your visit!
