On Sunday night, we experienced the brand new Tomorrowland Skyline Lounge on the balcony of the Tomorrowland Expo Center and it did not disappoint! We had so much fun!
In this post, we share about our experience and why we think reserving a spot at the lounge is worth it. Read on if you’re interested in hearing more about it or are thinking about making a reservation!
- The Skyline Lounge experience is $45.00 per person (guests under age 3 are free). Annual Passholder discounts do not apply.
- Hours are 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM every evening – guests can stay for the full two hours or come and go as they please.
- All guests with a ticket to the lounge will receive a box of goodies (photo below) and a choice of hot or cold non-alcoholic beverage (they allowed everyone to take more than one drink).
- They don’t overbook this experience with too many people, which is one of the reasons why it was so enjoyable – it was really nice to not have a big crowd around!
- Reservations can be made up to 60 days in advance by clicking here or by calling (714) 781-3463.

There was some confusion for a few guests (including us) about where to check-in on Sunday night. As of now, Disneyland’s website says check-in is located at the base of the Tomorrowland Expo Center, next to Red Rockett’s Pizza Port (you’ll see a line forming and a sign that says “Tomorrowland Skyline Lounge”).
When this experience was first added to Disneyland’s website, it said to check-in and get wrist bands and badges at the fruit stand located across from the Star Trader, but now that it says something different, we wonder if it is because of the confusion?! Either way, we suggest checking both the fruit stand (check this spot first) AND the base of the Tomorrowland Expo Center to see which spot to get wrist bands and badges at.
We HIGHLY recommend arriving 15-20 minutes BEFORE 8:00 PM to ensure that you’re checked in and closer to the front of the line at the base of the Tomorrowland Expo Center so you can get the most out of your 2 hours in the lounge.
THE MENU. Most of these goodies were delicious! The only one we weren’t super fond of was the “Coconut Comet,” but we still ate it! HA!
Our little tray of eats! We each had a piece of pizza from Pizza Port in Tomorrowland ahead of time because we weren’t sure how filling this would all be (plus we were starving), so just keep that in mind if you’re thinking it’s going to be a big meal!
Cold beverage choices
Hot beverage choices – coffee, hot chocolate and hot water for tea.
It was super cloudy, but still a beautiful view!
After you get your food and beverage(s), they’ll have you wait just a minute to be seated. When we got up to the lounge, they didn’t have anyone seating people, so we didn’t know that we were supposed to be seated and just snagged the only open table there was – it ended up being the most amazing view! That said, if you aren’t seated by a Cast Member, it isn’t the end of the world, ha – you won’t get in trouble or anything for seating yourself. 🙂
If you scroll down you’ll see Julie “napping” (ha!) on part of one of the couches the lounge has in addition to the tables. We liked where we sat because we had our own table (not that we’re anti-social, we just liked having our own spot – we actually made friends with the sweetest couple sitting behind us)!
Look how empty the walkways of Tomorrowland were! Most people are out on Main Street for parades and fireworks at this point, so it’s kinda nice to look down and see it empty!
The lounge has complimentary light sabers for guests to take photos with…haha! This would definitely be a hit for kiddos (or kids at heart, like us)!
One of our favorite things were the appearances by Mickey and Minnie! Our kids would have freaked! They walked around from table to table, snapping photos, dancing for us (check out our recent Instagram video to see Mickey’s moves…amazing!), and just being awesome. Once again, this would be a highlight for kids!
Another big part (if not the biggest and best part) of this lounge experience is the view of the fireworks. If you know what it’s like to find a spot and stand for fireworks on Main Street, then you will appreciate what it’s like to sit in a comfy seat, relax and just soak in the Disney magic in the sky (perhaps with a light saber and hot chocolate in hand)!
The only thing we would have loved to be able to see are the images that are projected onto Sleeping Beauty Castle and the Matterhorn (also projected onto Main Street buildings, it’s a small world facade and Rivers of America). Projections show up on the opposite side of the Matterhorn pictured here, so we could only see a tiny bit of what kinda wrapped around the left side. Anyway, it wasn’t the end of the world because we could hear the music loud and clear AND the fireworks are so big and beautiful that projections aren’t totally necessary. We also could see Tinker Bell flying from the Matterhorn over the castle really well, so that was just amazing.
During busy season, fireworks are scheduled every evening (weather permitting), so if you book the lounge for any night this Summer, fireworks will likely be happening (once again, weather permitting), but always feel free to check the daily entertainment schedule to be sure that fireworks are scheduled if you’re wanting to see the show from the lounge. The schedule on Disneyland’s website shows entertainment times up to 6 weeks out.
We didn’t get the greatest photos of fireworks because we were busy filming the show on our Instagram story, but you get the idea – perfect view! The fireworks happen all the way across the sky starting behind Main Street and all the way to behind Toontown, so there’s a lot to see in every direction in front of you depending on what part of the show is happening!
Disney fireworks faces. Also, moms night out faces.
Nap time. Complimentary blankets are provided (we’re sure they wash these with extra detergent and pixie dust).
Jenga with a view! Jenga and Connect Four are provided for guests’ enjoyment!
Need to charge a device? Skyline Lounge to the rescue! They’ve got all the chargers for various devices!
